Современные методы и подходы просопографии (мастерская исследователя)

В статье на примере реконструкции биографии римского грамматиста Элия Доната (IV в.), автора работы, озаглавленной Ars grammatica, демонстрируется методика проведения просопографического исследования. Показано, какие именно методы могут быть избраны для конкретного случая, как они могут работать применительно к реконструкции биографии Элия Доната; как при помощи таких методов, общего подхода и методики могут быть подобраны, сопоставлены и систематизированы те или иные необходимые для исследования исторические свидетельства; как на основании анализа обширного просопографического материала можно делать выводы в отношении времени жизни, деятельности и рода занятий исторической личности, о жизни которой точных сведений не сохранилось. Отмечается важность просопографии как научного подхода к исследованию истории, в частности социальной, и дискуссии о том, что представляет собой эта историческая дисциплина. Привлекаются и рассматриваются методы исключения и отбора источников, поиска информации с привлечением электронных текстовых баз данных, методы сравнительного и текстуального анализа, интерпретации текста и релевантных контекстов, а также их сопоставления, отбора и согласования полученной информации и др.
