Abstract

Рассматривается влияние политики освоения Крайнего Севера в послесталинский период на появление критики условий жизни в арктических городах. Анализ материалов периодической печати Воркуты, Норильска и Мирного показывает, как официальная риторика, провозгласившая целью улучшение благосостояния населения, изменение социального состава северных городов, способствовала появлению рефлексии на городские проблемы как в бывших лагерных поселениях, так и в новых индустриальных городах. Закрытие системы ГУЛАГ, усиленное освоение полезных ископаемых на Крайнем Севере СССР стимулировали широкие и слабо контролируемые миграционные потоки в регион со второй половины 1950-х гг. С этого времени в официальных нарративах города Крайнего Севера стали символами покорения суровой природы и использовались в качестве доказательства однородности жизненного пространства, возможности создать советскую повседневность в любых природных условиях. Динамика массового притока и оттока рабочих из центральных регионов способствовала открытости информации и возникновению резкой критики существующих условий жизни в этих городах.
