Выставка «Архитектура США» в Советском Союзе периода холодной войны: опыт коммуникативного анализа

Американские выставки в СССР традиционно расцениваются в историографии как американская пропаганда и часть холодной войны за сердца и умы советских граждан. Автор предлагает анализ одной из таких выставок под названием «Архитектура США» (Ленинград, Минск, Москва, 1965), чтобы продемонстрировать ее сложность как коммуникационного события. В статье рассматриваются отдельно канал (американская выставка как тип события) и сообщение (тематика каждой отдельной выставки). Американские выставки в целом можно рассматривать как средство трансляции пропаганды per se, сама их форма (очень устойчивая) является пропагандой. Сообщение же, тема и экспозиция выставки относительно нейтральны. Форма и содержание выставок имели разную аудиторию: американская выставка как тип события привлекала широкую публику, тогда как тематически выставки были нацелены на профессионалов. Советских посетителей американских выставок можно рассматривать как специфическую «публику пропаганды», а в некоторых случаях и как экспертов пропаганды.
Пропаганду обычно определяют как намеренно манипулятивную форму коммуникации, цель которой состоит во влиянии на суждения и действия получателя информации. Однако определение явления как пропагандистского зависит от его интерпретации со стороны акторов. Поэтому в данной работе как пропаганда рассматривается в первую очередь то, на что советская сторона реагировала как на пропаганду.
