Quaestio Rossica receives high evaluation from the Polish scientific community

The issue of determining the level of effectiveness of scientific research is relevant for many countries. The existing research evaluation system in Russia is criticised as it is solely focused on bibliometric indicators. As of this year, Poland’s evaluation of effectiveness of university lecturers and researchers is attributed to the quality of publications only. A researcher must submit as few as four works every four years (including three articles published in journals) for assessment. An article published in a journal that is recognised by the scientific community and has high bibliometric indicators receives more points than a few works issued by a low-ranked periodical.

Together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Polish scientific community regularly prepares a ranked list of journals and conference materials (including foreign ones) which represents all disciplines. Thus, the list allows for both bibliometric indicators and expert-based evaluation. Thanks to some colleagues familiar with the work of the Quaestio Rossica editorial board and the recognition from international community, it was suggested that the Journal be included in the list and evaluated at a level of the best Polish journals.

In the list of peer-reviewed journals published on July 30, 2019, Quaestio Rossica is included in the category of recognised academic journals in the field of literary studies, history, linguistics, cultural and religious studies, and art studies. The list includes over 29 000 journals issued globally in various fields of study. The list compiled by the Ministry includes almost 14 000 journals on social studies and the humanities. Only a few Russian historical journals have been recommended to Polish historians and Quaestio Rossica is one of them. The Quaestio Rossica editorial board is honoured to have received such high evaluation of the Journal from the Polish scientific community.
