Abstract

The dynamic development of the Russian industry at the end of 19th – early 20th century was supported largely by significant foreign investment. A particularly important role in the history of industrialization of Russia and the development of its military complex on the eve of World War belonged to the Franco-Belgian financial group called the Syndicat des affaires russes. This group came in very close relationship with the firm Schneider-Creusot and Russo-Asiatic Bank Group, to promote financial construction business warships, artillery, ammunition, projectiles, rockets and optics. Union of Russian Affairs with its partners organized a large industrial group in the consortium type of armament sector which exercised a major influence in the evolution of the Russian defense system on the eve of the First World War.
