Abstract

The article contains results of an analysis of the materials of the all-Russian round table (with international participation) devoted to the mutual influence of the Russian peasantry and World War I. This academic forum was held on April 11, 2014 on the basis of Historical and Archival Institute (Russian State University for the Humanities), and its shorthand report is published in the New Historical Bulletin, Issue 2, 2014. The author describes the viewpoints of modern historians of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus on the issue in question, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the discussion, and assessing its role in modern Russian historiography.
