Presenting Quaestio Rossica to the Czech Slavicists

On September 17 and 18, members of the editorial board of the Journal visited Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. Apart from presenting Quaestio Rossica to the Slavicists of the university, the representatives of the Journal took part in the seminar The Contemporary Humanities Journal Facing the Challenges of Globalisation and Digitalisation, and the work of the panel discussion Global Trends and National Traditions in Publications in the Humanities. The discussions of the future of academic journals was joined by leading researchers of Moravia from Palacký University Olomouc, University of Ostrava, and the University of Hradec Králové.

 

The participants of the events discussed a variety of issues, i.e. the influence of scientometrics and digitalisation processes on the development of humanities journals in Russia and the Czech Republic and the prospects of such journals as Novaya Rusistika, Opera Slavica, and Slavica Litteraria. Additionally, the participants talked about the realisation process of The Publication of International Academic Journals of Ural Federal University project, and Quaestio Rossica’s experience in working with authors and reviewers. The Czech scholars spoke about the main journals focusing on Slavic studies and the most relevant topics in the sphere. The seminar and the discussion that followed it testified to the importance of maintaining contacts between researchers and editorial boards.
