Seo Sangbeom, professor from South Korea met with Quaestio Rossica editorial board

On September 6, 2019, the Quaestio Rossica editorial board met with Seo Sangbeom, a professor at Busan University of Foreign Studies. The meeting was joined by the Journal’s editor-in-chief L. Soboleva, member of the editorial board Yu. Zapary, executive secretary associate A. Antoshin, and I. Musinova, a Korean studies expert and lecturer at the Department of Oriental Studies of Ural Federal University.

Professor Seo Sangbeom is an eminent Russian studies expert and the author of the thesis on The Peculiarities of the Development of Russian Literature between the 1920s and 1930s. He is one of the leaders of the Korean Association of Russian Studies as well as an expert at the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies. Seo Sangbeom has been working closely with Ural researchers, he contributed to a joint summer school held by UrFU and Busan University of Foreign Studies in 2018. The universities also have a student exchange programme.

At the meeting, the professor agreed to join the Journal’s editorial board to coordinate the cooperation between Quaestio Rossica and Korean Russian studies experts. The editorial board hopes that the visit of Professor Seo Sangbeom will give a new impetus to the development of the Russian-Korean research cooperation.
