To explain these sections, the author analyses the corresponding fragments of Priscian’s Institutiones Grammaticae (5th–6th centuries AD), describing the content and textual parallels between the works of Priscian and Dmitry (and/or followers and copyists of Dmitry’s text). The author illustrates the multilayered nature of the text, which synthesises various Latin grammars and Western European (German) translations contemporary to Dmitry. The author concludes that Russian scholarship of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries was indirectly aware of Priscian’s Institutiones and adapted it to new educational needs.</p>}, number={2}, journal={Quaestio Rossica}, author={Petrova, Maya}, year={2019}, month={Jun.}, pages={492–506} }
