Conference "Values in Literature and Arts V" (26-27 August 2020, Brno, Czech Republic)

The Czech Association of Slavists in cooperation with the Department of Slavonic Studies of the Masaryk University Brno, Department of Russian and Foreign Literature and of Methodology of Teaching Literature of the Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education in Samara, Ars Comparationis (Slavonic Section of International Association for Word and Image Studies), Central-European Centre of Slavonic Studies, Frank Wollman Society of Slavonic Studies invite you to take part in 13th International Conference "Values in Literature and Arts V" (26-27 August 2020, Brno, Czech Republic).

The aim of the conference is to demonstrate different contemporary approaches to the problem of values and to deepen the axiological aspect of the study of literature, arts and culture.

Basic themes of the conference: Depiction of Values and Their Interpretation in Literary Works and in Literary Criticism

Aside of the basic conference themes special theme panels and round table discussions will be organised to deal with the following topics:

- The Energy of the „Negative Hero“ in a Literary Work
- The Intentionality in the Depiction of Temporal and Spatial Dimensions in a Literary Artefact
- The Existentional Conflict in 19th and 20th-century Poetry and Prose
- Lifework and Life of Evgeny Nikolayevich Chirikov

Languages of the conference: all Slavonic and world languages

Duration of each paper: 10-15 minutes

Conference fee: 1300 Czech crowns/55 € in case of personal attendance, 1000 Czech crowns/40 € in case of impersonal attendance

Accommodation and meals: paid by any participant himself/herself

Session proposal with the theme of your paper and the abstract in Czech, Russian or English (maximum 200 characters) shall be sent (format: .doc, .rtf) by e-mail to the address
hodnoty@phil.muni.cz before April 30th 2020.

The papers (maximum 18000 characters incl. spaces) will be published in separate conference volumes/monographs. Please, send your paper before November 01st 2020.

Any other information will be sent to you by the organizers to your e-mail address in June-July 2020.
